A Note On The Australian Wildfires

     Perhaps you haven't been following the devastating brush fires that are blazing across Australia at the moment; perhaps you have. I'm certainly no journalist, and I feel ill prepared to pass on any knowledge about something that is so important. But currently, from what I understand, New South Wales and Victoria (among other states) are fighting some of the worst brush fires in recent history. Of course, Australia is no stranger to wildfires, but there seems something different about this one to me; this fire brings up feelings of impending doom for the earth. As Greta Thunberg said, "Our house is on fire".

Currently, 27 people have been killed and 15.6 million acres of forest has been burned. I cannot imagine the number of animals, from mammals to insects, that have been lost, not to mention the impact of smoke on the environment. I've been keenly interested in footage of efforts to save the animals, and I've seen some truly beautiful acts of bravery, selflessness, and trust that surpassed the language of species. But it seems there needs to be more; Australia and its inhabitants still need help.

Please, if you're able, consider donating to WWF Australia, one of my particular favourite charities. You could also help by donating to the Australian Red Cross or the New South Wales Rural Fire Brigade, who are risking their lives to fight to blaze and rescue injured animals.

Together we can make a difference.

     I'd like to start this post off with a quick apology. I know my posts have all been editorial or campaign commentaries lately, and I'm so sorry for that. I haven't been able to locate my camera after moving, so I may just have to use my iPhone in order to start making original content again. I miss getting in front of the camera, shooting outfit posts, and filming product reviews. We will definitely have more of that very soon! For now, I just want to share a little more fashion with you.

My last post on For Love & Lemons 2019 Ready To Wear Fall Collection was only part one. You see, the lookbook is actually split into two different sections, each featuring great photos starring two different models. I loved both, but could only fit one model's photos in a single post, as this collection was pretty massive. So I'm sharing what I'll call Part II For Fall.

This stunning collection of photos is my favourite of the two halves. This beautiful model looks just like a tourist as she traverses the city of love, stopping to scan a map in the chicest way possible. The clothing here is a little more casual, which is more my cup of tea. I adore the Faye Midi Dress, which is full and sheer and boasts a blooming pattern that can't been ignored.

     I'd like to start this post by saying that I am so sorry for the unannounced hiatus. I've been struggling a lot with my mental heath lately. With the turn of the season, my anxiety has pricked up and my depression has come out, and I find myself without the motivation or energy to do much of anything; even the things I used to take great pleasure in (including this blog). I want to start this week off a little more hopeful by writing a short article, and asking anyone who is feeling overwhelmed as Autumn starts and brings with it classes, new projects and responsibilities, to contact support if they find themselves overwhelmed. Thank you.
