15 Sweet Things To Do For Mother's Day

No comments:

I thoroughly enjoy Mother's day. I love any excuse to shop for fancy cards and wrap gifts, and it's a great opportunity to say thanks to my mom. She's done so much for me, so it's nice to give her a special day once a year.

That being said, it can be challenging to keep coming up with new ideas for gifts and celebrations. This year, I'm focused more on spending quality time and making memories rather than buying extravagant gifts. If you've been looking for a low-key way to make your mom feel special, these 15 sweet things to do on Mother's Day are sure to make her smile.

1. Serve her breakfast in bed: It's a classic for a reason! Surprising her with this super sweet gesture is sure to start her morning off right.

2. Treat her to lunch (or brunch!): Another go-to. Mix it up by trying out a new local place or a charming tea house.

3. Give her a DIY spa day: Gift her some pretty homemade soaps, and spend the day making DIY scrubs and face masks together. There are tons of awesome recipes on Pinterest!

4. Take her shopping at a cute local store or outdoor market: Support your local businesses by browsing some unique shops.

5. Tell her how you feel: Show your appreciation with a thoughtful card or letter really pouring your heart out. Try listing all the reasons you're grateful for her. You can print one free here!

6. Spring clean for her: Who wouldn't appreciate a day of rest? Take care of her housework and let her kick back for the day.

7. Cook her dinner: If you have the culinary skills, try making her favorite dish; you could even try making it together!

8. Bake her something: I mean, are cupcakes ever a bad idea?

9. Give her a good/meaningful book: Hunt down a copy of her favorite out-of-print book, or choose a new book for her to love.

10. Take her to the theater: Get tickets to a concert or show, or even just a new movie at the cinema. Make sure it's something that you think she'd like to see.

11. Take her on a picnic: Pack a basket with yummy treats and enjoy the sunshine, just the two of you.

12. Check out a museum, art gallery or botanical garden: Visit someplace new! Spend a peaceful day strolling through gardens or galleries together.

13. Visit a zoo or amusement park: Ask her if she's up for it! A little excitement never hurt anyone.

14. Take her on a weekend getaway: Whisk her away to a spa, retreat, or bed and breakfast!

15. And lastly... Ask her what she wants to do! She may have a few ideas of her own in mind.

What's your favorite way to celebrate Mother's Day? Do you and your mom have any traditions?
